Birth Doula Support

Continuity of care from pregnancy through to postpartum

Are you overwhelmed with the decisions you must make during your pregnancy and feeling vulnerable? Are you not feeling confident advocating for your needs and navigating the maternity system?

Are you wanting support for your partner to help them understand and trust the process of labour and birth and to be guided by someone who knows and trusts birth?

You may have a traumatic previous experience of birth or just know the statistics around birth trauma and don’t want to end up as one of the 1 in 3 women in Australia who experience it. You know there is more to birth than having a healthy baby. You know birth is a rite of passage and you know how you want your birth to unfold but you’re not sure how to make it happen.

I know that the way your birth unfolds is less important than the way you feel about it so I work with you to understand and implement the steps you need to take to prepare for the birth of your dreams, while simultaneously helping you to remain unattached to outcomes and prepared for different scenarios.

I am an independent and impartial support person with no-one to answer to, except you. It is my role to complement your choice of healthcare professional and provide you with holistic support throughout this journey, with continuity of care that extends beyond the physical, to encompass your mental, emotional, and spiritual needs and understand birth as a moment in time on a greater journey of personal growth.

Please note: I am currently taking a break from supporting families for birth and postpartum. However, I am happy to announce that there are a bunch of other emerging doulas in the area and I recently started the Macedon Ranges Whole Doula Collective to help connect doulas with expectant families. If you are seeking a birth or postpartum doula and would like me to connect you with another doula in the area who may be able to support you, please express your interest HERE.

My Pledge To You

Society perpetuates a culture of fear around birth, but I am here to encourage you to feel excited about it.

I love being able to hold space for – and bear witness to – parents as they undertake the momentous transformation of entering parenthood and the complex shifts of identity that often take place. To be welcomed by families and join them on their sacred journeys is an incredible honour.

I will:

  • - hold you accountable for your decision making

  • - support you to peel back the layers of your conditioning

  • - enable you to arrive at the altar of birth as your most confident and authentic self

  • - support you to assert your needs and wishes, without fear of upsetting others

  • - support your partner to help them understand and trust the process of labour and birth.

Testimonials

“Hiring you as our doula has been one of the best choices, we have made. I definitely would recommend you to other women. It was better to have you there; it was a great choice and money well spent. You were an amazing doula… you were supportive, discreet but yet very present and a wonderful support person to have on board. One of the best decisions to have hired you!”

— Delphine

“Thank you so very much for your care of us. I’ll always remember the strength and calm I felt after meeting you, and through my labour and early weeks with Eden. It has been such a beautiful time of my life and I feel very grateful to have been held by you, and this is what has helped me to have the best possible experience of birth. Thanks for always reminding me to ‘honour how I feel’, I will take that and so much more with me for life”.
